Dialogue Writing Exercise | Worksheet on Dialogue Writing

 

Please refer here to read how to write a dialogue. Then do the following exercises:  

Exercise on Dialogue Writing: 

1.A recent survey highlighted the increasing dependence of youth on cell phones. Write a dialogue between two friends in not more than 5 turns  to highlight the point that science should help in better living and not control man’s life. You can refer to the following hints. 

  • addiction to cell phones
  • nomophobia
  • communication breakdown
  • little time for human interaction
  • engrossed with mobiles
  • losing it causes panic attacks
  • shortness of breath
  • science should enhance life
  • not make a slave

2. You are a member of the school Social Service Club. You have to visit a nearby slum where a large number of residents are addicted to smoking. You have decided to speak to the residents about the evils of tobacco abuse.  Write a dialogue between your friend and you about your visit  in not more than 5 turns and include the following points in your dialogues. 

  •  Besides being a killer, it is a drain on the limited family income.
  • Smoking causes  cancer and other respiratory diseases.
  •  Smoking is harmful for other family members who are passive smokers. 
  • They inhale the smoke and suffer from its ill effects even though they don't smoke themselves. 
3. Schools today are turning five-star. Soon perhaps schools will be businesses run by companies and the objective of education will be profit more than service. Write a dialogue on this topic between your elder brother and you. Take hints from the following points. 

  • Huge campuses, ultra modern facilities
  • air conditioned class rooms and buses
  •  internet cafes, big canteens
  • Where is our education leading to? 
  • What is wrong with it? 
  • Who is responsible? 
4. You’re one of the passengers of a plane which mysteriously slid off the runway while landing and split into two. Luckily everyone on board escaped with only minor injuries. But the horror and agony of it all is writ large on the faces which troop  out  of  the  airport.  Suddenly  you  find  yourself  face  to  face  with  a  TV interviewer. Write the dialogue that followed between the two of you in about 100 words.                         

Hint :                  

• Sudden jerk

• Shaky plane splits with loud noise

• Screams and wails

• Horror, disbelief, confusion, terrifying experience

• Miracle! Everyone is safe
